| Petru Amarei
President & Founder
Petru Amarei is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of Romanian Christian Television, based in Chicago, IL.
Petru came to Chicago, Illinois in 1980 from the western region of Romania, in the industrial city of Resita where the Amarei family lived before immigrating to the U.S. From an early age, Petru was well-grounded and rooted in God’s word, as his parents were diligent in providing for their children a rich, Christian family heritage and upbringing. The Amarei’s, along with all proud Romanians, are well-acquainted with the lack of human freedom, as they suffered during the harsh years of the Communist regime.
Upon arriving in the United States, Petru quickly seized the opportunities available to him in a free society, and established several successful businesses which he continues to direct to this day; among them, a Real Estate development company, and a tax service firm, U.S. Tax Express, Ltd.
In 1991, he became concerned about reaching the growing Romanian-American community in the Midwest. As a result of that passion, Petru established the pioneer Romanian-language Telecast “Face To Face”, as part of his newly-formed Romanian Christian Television; this program continues to be broadcast weekly on several major Chicago television stations. Since that initial undertaking, other Christian media services have been established, as well as a host of mission projects which have served the underprivileged in Romania as well as other areas of Europe.
Petru resides in north-suburban Chicago, is married to Annie, and they have two children Philip, ages 5 & Larisa 3. |
